what is gifted?
Gifted individuals are those who demonstrate outstanding levels of aptitude or competence in one or more domains.
In an informative and captivating DVD, SENG highlights the plight of children who are misdiagnosed with disorders such as ADHD or Asperger’s Syndrome. Misdiagnosis of gifted children is a widespread problem, but still largely unknown to healthcare professionals, educators, and parents. To protect our children from inappropriate diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment, and to promote their social and intellectual development, we must educate people about the potential for misinterpreting characteristics of giftedness as symptoms of pathology.
