Beuth Residence : Hollywood Hills Ca

Perched on a steep 45-degree slope overlooking the lights and sights of Los Angeles, California, the modern Beuth Residence on Blue Jay Way by design principal Zoltan E. Pali of SPF Architects boasts an equal awareness of art, entertainment and modern architecture.The home’s light frame seems to float weightlessly high above the Pacific, offering panoramic views from each of its four spacious storeys. The structure’s upper level is clad in teak panels, and sits atop a glass-enclosed main floor. The open-concept floor plan enhances the modern feel of the layout while maximizing on natural light. Inside, every detail has been finished with an artistic eye and a thought to modern amusements. A mirrored alcove in the billiards room is also the window overlooking the stunning pool outside. Luxury leisure pursuits will lead residents and guests indoors to the screening room to catch the latest flick; to the state-of-the-art home gym; to the wine cellar; or to the disco lounge complete with a funky mirror ball, a DJ booth and a bar. This ultra-modern residence brings a modern new meaning to “home entertainment.”

Norwich Drive Residence by Clive Wilkinson

Clive Wilkinson acquired the site adjacent to colorful Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood and constructed a new house for his own use.
To express the transition from commercial to small scale residential, the construction is a simple cubic stucco, with exposed wood structure, and softened with landscaping.
The house is entered through a dense olive grove, and opens up with a long view through the low glass screened living room to the rear courtyard, which is dominated by a 90 square meter swimming pool.
Inside, the large double-height social space of the kitchen-dining room overlooks the pool. The master suite is located in a rear, with its own courtyard, and has a bathroom that enjoys large glass doors to the pool and a shower that connects directly, allowing a convenient way to shower after swimming. The upstairs area is devoted to flexible bedroom, office and studio space.

MASH Studios is a Los Angeles-based multi-disciplinary design firm that specializes in the design and manufacturing of home and office furniture as well as custom environments for commercial and residential spaces. MASHstudios has worked on Kid Robot retail stores in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and most recently Miami. As an icon in pop culture, art toys and vinyl, Kid Robot needed something simple and fresh, modern yet understated for a young feel that wouldn’t over clutter their small spaces.The San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Miami Kid Robot stores have unique features and styles specific to their city and neighborhood. MASH was pleased to create crisp local designs on each assignment.
